Road Trip!!!!

That night we stayed at the Radisson in Longmont, Colorado. Not only was the room awesome...

But it had a sleep number bed in it too. It was by far the most comfortable  place we stayed on our trip.

First thing in the morning, we headed to Lafayette, CO to see the "vampire" grave. The headstone looked like it was carved with a knife. It was very hard to read. The only thing we could make out was "+2 Romanion" and "Born in Transylvania." Research told us his name was Glava.

The story is...the rose bushes on either side of the headstone are his fingernails that never stopped growing. As you can see, a tree is growing  where the body is. The tree was supposed to have sprouted from the wooden stake that was used to slay him.

There weren't a lot of other plots next to the "vampire."

Next, to Golden, Colorado to see the final resting place of "Buffalo Bill" Cody. There's a story about his burial...

When Sitting Bull died, he was in North Dakota. South Dakota wanted his remains but North Dakota said no way. In the middle of the night, several men snuck over the border, stole the remains and buried him in  Mobridge, SD. They placed a big stone bust over his grave to keep anyone from stealing him. When Cody died, Wyoming and Nebraska put in for his remains. Colorado said no way and immediately buried him at the top of Lookout Mountain...

They covered the grave with concrete and reinforced steel, just to make sure.

It was very nice. Just like with "Wild Bill" Hickok, people left money, cigarettes and flowers.

His wife, Louisa Maud Cody was next to him.

The views were just beautiful. We were also very surprised how many bikers were riding up the mountain. There were hundreds of them. We also saw hikers, people flying RC gliders and people jumping off the top of the mountain with parachutes.
