Road Trip!!!!

It was SO cold when we got to Ft. Laramie. It was 41 degrees and, you can't see it in the picture, but it was raining. I don't know how we didn't get sick.

The long building is the barracks where the soldiers stayed.

The armory.

Yes, I almost got my head stuck playing around.

The ruins of the jail. Each space is one cell. Just enough room for one man to lay down.

The commander's house. You could go in to each building. They were furnished just the way it would have been when the Fort was active. You could even go upstairs which we found out is unusual in very old buildings.

The officer's houses.

Now you can see the rain!

This sign cracked us up!

Right outside of the park was this old bridge that wasn't connected to any road. It was the Fort Laramie Bridge. Constructed in 1875 and remained in-use until 1958. It's the oldest existing military bridge West of the Mississippi River.

We took a scenic route to our next stop. About 30 miles down the road, instead of just fixing the road, they tore it completely out and were getting ready to pour a new road. The dirt road lasted for about 10 more miles.
