The dining room where we had a great dinner and the best home made pancakes for breakfast! |
After breakfast, we went to walk around town. |
The whole town was very cool. Lots of restored historic buildings. |
We came upon this plaque marking where Jack McCall, the man who shot "Wild Bill" Hickok on August 2, 1876 was captured. |
The outside of the Bullock Hotel. It was the first hotel built in "modern" Deadwood. It was built in 1895 by the first sheriff of Deadwood, Seth Bullock. |
The lobby of the Bullock Hotel. There were lots of places to gamble in town. |
Bill was the big winner! He won 2191 nickels. It came out to $109.55! |
We took this especially for Kris' sister. Hi Laura! |
It rained pretty hard while we were gambling. Once it slowed to a sprinkle, we went to our first site of the day, the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. At Mt. Moriah, you parked your car and walked in to the cemetery. |
Mt. Moriah is where "Wild Bill" Hickok is buried. |
We were surprised "Calamity Jane" was buried beside him. We thought her dying request was sweet, "Bury me beside Wild Bill." |
