Road Trip!!!!

The complex was huge. They had a restaurant, gift shop, the sculptor's studio, displays about how the monument was carved and how it's maintained, an amphitheater and several trails around the monument.

This is the Avenue of Flags. It had a flag for each of the 50 states with the name of the state and the date it joined the Union.

It was very cool! This was taken from the Grand View Terrace.

Bill in front of the monument. This is a photo without zoom. You can see how far away the monument is.

It seemed kind of corny to use the view scopes but you could zoom in really closely and see every detail.

We had lunch in the cafeteria. The spaghetti and meatball special. Yum!

It was cool seeing the monument out the window.

This display shows the scale of the carvings. It's one of my favorite pictures.

This photo is the view from the Borglum Viewing Terrace. It's pretty with the trees in front of the monument.

Gutzon Borglum, Mount Rushmore's sculptor.

Hey! It's Abraham Lincoln! He wasn't on stilts. He really was that tall!
