Our first stop on the tour was the sled dogs.

a team from this place won the Iditarod last year!

The first dog he showed us was in the movie Snow Dogs. He explained why this husy-type dog makes for a bad Iditarod dog. They use a more mixed-breed dog.

The dogs were just hanging out at their houses.

They split us in to two groups. One group was going to go on the sled first.

As soon as they brought out the harnesses to hook the dogs to the sled, all of the dogs went from quiet to insane! They all wanted tobe picked to pull the sled. Click HERE or the photo above to watch a video.

They use the Summer to train the dogs to pull. On each run when we were there they had at least 2 dogs that had never pulled before.

If you watch the video you'll see how insane this dog gets. I've never seen a dog look happier to be picked. He's one that had never pulled before. When they came back he wanted to go again. He loved it!
