One more

Our tour guide was so nice. He answered every question anyone had about living in Cuba and he told us that our ship had been on the news the night before. We didn't know this was Holland's inaugural cruise to Cuba! He told us he was so nervous to giv our tour he almost cancelled!

Art vendors

They took us to a street where they had street vendors selling local wares. It was really good shopping because most of the wares were hand made, not typical tourist stuff.

Overcrowding

Our tour guide also pointed out some of the problems in Cuba. This building is very overcrowded. If you look at the top left two windows, the thick bar across the windows is the floor of the upper apartment. In other words, they took the top floor and added another floor halfway up the window to allow for more people. They're VERY short apartments.

Sidecar!

You dont see many motorcycles with sidecars. I thought it was cool!

Dogs!

We'd been driving around town for about 4 hours by now and we had only seen one dog. Someone on the bus even asked our guide how common it was for people to have dogs as pets because we didn't see any dogs. There were 4 dogs in the street coming in to Fusterland!

Granma mosaic

Castro and the revolutionaries on the Granma. This one is my favorite propaganda. They look like they're going on vacation with the heart and the guy in the back playing the guitar. So happy!

Cool cars

The cars were everywhere! They told us on the ship they charged to take pictures of the cars but, no one asked us for money.

Princess Diana

On the street
