The platform was plexiglass. You can see it had little white dots on it. I think the clear glass was too much for some people.
It says in several languages, "You are standing 580 meters above sea level."
I couldn't decide which picture of the cross I liked better, with the city behind it or the ocean, so I included both.
Where we stopped was called "Pico da Cruz" and this is why, the giant cross at the top of the peak.
