You can see, the sign says it's made of Carrera marble imported from Italy. It was blessed by the XII Pope before it was shipped and blessed by Cardinal Manuel Arleaga when it arrived in Havana. It's located 51 meters above sea level and is 20 meters high. It's formed by 77 pieces that all weigh 320 tons. christ of havana cuba el cristo de la habana havana statue tour

Our guide told us Cuba's version of the Bay of Pigs. How Kennedy "lost at the Bay of Pigs and was embarassed" in the eyes of the world. It was interesting hearing their point of view. He also told us how Castro was shut out by Russia in the negotiations after the Bay of Pigs.
