Shopping
Our last stop was shopping. It was a HUGE place that had hundreds of stalls. Nearly every aisle had the last stuff as the last aisle. We didn't buy anything.

Waiting
We must have been a sight. A bunch of tourists on the side of the road. Our bus did get there and parked across the street! We all had to run for it.

The bus
So, the bus wasn't here. It was supposed to meet us.

Spanish
In case you want to read what the map said.

Map
Of the Plaza de Armas.

Government
This used to be the main government building.

Plaza de Armas
In colonial times, the square was the site of military parades, musical concerts and formal evening promenades, and it maintained its political and administrative role until the mid-20th century. It is surrounded by buildings spanning four centuries. The carriage and the men in costume are part of the recreations they do here in the afternoons.

Following Hemmingway
The building to the right is part of the university. The pink hotel down the street is where Ernest Hemmingway used to stay.

Buildings
As we walked to meet the bus we were learning about the buildings.

On the move
Moving again to our next stop!

Christopher Columbus
They said that the relics of Christopher Columbus were supposedly housed in the cathedral from 1796 to 1898.

Restaurant
This are had a ton of restaurants and bars. It was nice!

Catedral de San Cristobal
Also known as the Cathedral of The Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception, the cathedral was completed in 1777 by the Franciscans. It wasn't open. I'm not sure if that was because of the day of the week or the time, it was getting late.

La Bodeguita del Medio
Founded in 1942, this was a famous haunt of Ernest Hemmingway.

Old Havana
Walking towards the Plaza de la Catedral.

Pretty tree
On our way out for real now. The tree was so pretty!

Cool cannons!
Pointed out toward the water. You can see our ship in the background.

Another gun
No idea why it's turned toward the fort.
