Small tunnel
This tunnel was smaller than the others and it was not only muddy, it was a bit smelly. We didn't make it to the end of this one.

Different tunnel
You can see this one was muddy.

The end
We finally reached the end of one tunnel. It took a while!

Long tunnels
They went on and on! Super long tunnels!

Movie
They were playing a short movie about the underground tunnels.

Snow storage
They packed all of the snow in this underground room. It was quite cold in there and the ground was wet. By Summertime it was still ice.

Weights
These are weights used to weigh the ice. They used to pack these tunnels with snow in the winter and then in the Summer they would have ice. Pretty neat!

Entrance
Looking back at the entrance. There's a door because it's very cold down in the tunnels!

Keystone
Keystone with cane coat of alcaniz

Capital
Alcaniz castle capital with the cross of Calatrava and the symbol of the family of the Cervellón. It was in the first room in the underground tunnel along with some other artifacts.

Underground tunnels
Alcañiz has underground tunnels you can tour for 2 Euro. You enter through the tourism office.

Church of Santa Maria la Mayor
We debated whether or not to go in to the church. It usually takes a while to go through a big church. W ehadn't eaten lunch and we had other things on the agenda for the day.

Plaza de España
Facing the Town Hall. It dates back to 1570.

Walking
To get to town we had to walk down the same small, steep road we drove up to get to the parador.

Going to town
After the tour we started walking to town. We couldn't wait to check it out!

End of the tour
A nice shot of the Parador from one of the towers at the end of the tour.
