Nativity scene — Nativity scene

Since it was Christmas they had a staircase so you could visit the statue of the Birth of Jesus. We stood in line. to see.

Tortoise column — Tortoise column

There are two tortoises at the base of columns on the Nativity facade. They represent the land and the sea. They are also symbols of time, as something set in stone and unchanging.

Cypress Tree — Cypress Tree

Above the Coronation of the Virgin is a Cypress Tree with doves, symbolizing purity.

Carpenter — Carpenter

To the right, towards the bottom you can see Jesus as a carpenter. Towards the center you see Mary and Joseph seeking Jesus in the temple. At the top, the Immaculate Conception.

Construction — Construction

The Nativity facade was built between 1894 and 1930 and was the first façade to be completed. The four towers are each dedicated to a Saint: Matthias the Apostle, Saint Barnabas, Jude the Apostle, and Simon the Zealot.

Nativity facade — Nativity facade

This façade was the first to be completed (1894-1930) and depicts scenes the birth of Jesus Christ and scenes from His life. You can see the style is way different than the Passion side, not as severe.
