Santa Maria
You can sail on a replica of Christopher Columbus' ship, the Santa Maria. It was very small! Christopher Columbus moved to the island of Madeira with his wife in 1480 or 1481.

Off the ship!
Going to find our excursion!

Nice day
As the sun came out it looked like it was going to be a nice day!

Street lavel
We laughed every time we looked out our porthole. In the cruise description they act like it's SUCH a luxury to have an outside window. It's hard to make it out but we were literally at the level of the street. Also as low as you can go in the ship.

Docking
You can see the guys in the side bridge of the ship. They have the best view to steer the ship to the dock from this bridge. They cal see the full length of the ship and there's a window in the floor so they can steer right up to the dock..

Port
Taking some photos as we're pulling in to port.

Cloudy
The clouds looked menacing but we were hoping it wouldn't rain.

Cristiano
We didn't know anything about Madeira except people on the ship told us that soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo was born here. One of the things to buy, besides the wine, was his jersey.

Madeira
Our stop today is Funchal Madeira, Portugal.
Day 9
Funchal Madeira! Our tour took us to Camara de Lobos, a small fishing village made famous by Winston Churchill and then we were off to Cabo Girao, the highest sea cliff in Europe and the second highest in the world.
