Drawbridge
Crossing the drawbridge! They left the old hardware in place.

Cool sculpture
I couldn't figure out what this was and we were in a hurry to leave. I just liked the sculpture. The arms are cool.

Fort staircase
This was so fancy for just a staircase to cross the street. I had to take a picture.

Cigar and rum
Locals suggest that the statue was sculpted to depict a cigar in the right hand and a mojito in the left hand, honoring popular Cuban culture. You can totally picture in now, right? Go back to the photo of the statue from the front and you'll really see it.

From the base
The statue was inaugurated on December 24, 1958. Just fifteen days later, on January 8, 1959, Fidel Castro entered Havana during the Cuban Revolution.

National monument
It was impossible to catch the National Monument marker in the photos since the statue was so high. I ran in front of everyone's photos to get the pic. The top talks about when it was dedicated and the artist.

Great view!
A great view of our ship in port at Havana.

El Cristo de la Habana
We stopped at the Christ of Havana statue. It was that big one we saw as the ship was pulling in to port.
You can see, the sign says it's made of Carrera marble imported from Italy. It was blessed by the XII Pope before it was shipped and blessed by Cardinal Manuel Arleaga when it arrived in Havana. It's located 51 meters above sea level and is 20 meters high. It's formed by 77 pieces that all weigh 320 tons.

Missiles and jets
It looked really cool. I was kinda bummed we couldn't get out for a couple of minutes.

Bay of Pigs
There were planes and missiles on display from the Bay of Pigs. Of course, everything was on the other side of the bus. Our guide told us Cuba's version of the Bay of Pigs. How Kennedy "lost at the Bay of Pigs and was embarassed" in the eyes of the world. It was interesting hearing their point of view. He also told us how Castro was shut out by Russia in the negotiations after the Bay of Pigs. Castro took it as an insult and Cuba-Russian relations suffered.

More cars!
Out the bus window.

Packed!
You can see how many people are there! Itwas full!

Inflatable park
This park was packed with inflatables. It was really cool. Because of the trees it was hard to take pictures that would do it justice. It looked like tons of fun for kids!

Police station
I had to take a picture. It looks so imposing for a police station. Like something out of the movies!

Broken down
Some people were trying to fix a car in the parking lot. It was definitely a group effort,
