He was nice. He didn't speak much English.
The problem with standing still to wait for the bus is, anyone who was selling anything came by: art, people tried to put necklaces and scarves on us, belts, they had counterfeit iPhones, they were delling anything you could think of and they tried to get it in your hand or around your neck.

A "souk" is an open-air market or bazaar. Each souk sells different wares such as spices, leather goods, etc. This souk sells traditional artisian products (lamps, leather goods, clothing) and has restaurants.

On the second story in 2011 there was a bombing at the Argana cafe. It's all fixed now and it's the Argana Restaurant. I didn't feel unsafe except for the obvious pickpockets that followed us for a while but a quick change of direction got them off of our trail.

When we went to the Bahia Palace we passed a big group of guys coming out and they were all wearing red and blue. some people around us were REALLY excited to see them. It didn't even occur to me that they were a soccer team untilour tour guide told us the World Cup was in town. I was bummed we didn't get pictures but then we saw them again, walking in to the Medina of Marrakesh! People were stopping them and taking pictures.
